Texas in the Summer

There’s something really special about a Texas summer. The hot days not to be spent too far away from a body of water, the smell of sunscreen, and the warm nights.

I recognize I’m feeling especially nostalgic and that the 100+ degree weather is not the thing I’ll miss most about the state. But for such extreme conditions I’m always surprised about the amount of community activities and life that happens outside of A/C’d spaces.

Some of my favorite places to celebrate summer in Austin include Barton Springs, the Greenbelt, and Blues on the Green all pictured below.
